You want to be sure that your mission-critical data is protected against hackers and DDoS attacks, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is why every Able Commerce Hosting plan includes the ultimate in security - each server is behind a Cisco PIX series managed firewall.
The award-winning Cisco PIX Firewall series provides scalable, high-performance security solutions that consistently out-perform traditional, application-level proxy firewalls. Its non-UNIX, secure, real-time embedded system eliminates both the risks involved in using an open system and the performance issues associated with traditional firewalls. While processing data packets at application level slows typical proxy servers down, the PIX design enables firewalls to handle up to 256,000 simultaneous connections with a throughput of almost 170 megabits per second.
Passive Server Monitoring
All servers at Able Commerce Hosting have their web port monitored on an ongoing basis free of charge.
Each server also includes a passive monitoring service that tests each server at 5-minute intervals. This does not generate any network traffic. If ping fails, our monitoring service will notify us and we will reboot the server automatically.
Backup and Recovery Services
In the unlikely event that your server data is lost or destroyed, you need to have a backup system that will restore your data to its original form.
All website content and databases are backed up once each 24 hours, at approximately 2:00am PST. We recommend that you keep current backups of your website data on at least one other offsite location. AbleCommerce Hosting cannot guarantee 100% restoration in the event of a hardware failure.
At any time, you may request a backup of your database as long as your account is in good standing. There is no charge for this service unless it becomes a frequent occurrence, more than once per week. In that case, we may elect to charge your account a service fee of $15.
At your request, emergency website restoration is currently charged at $150 per hour for after-hours. Normal support charges are $99 per hour if the website restoration is scheduled within normal business hours. Charges will be billed to your hosting account.
Software Support and Upgrades
Free software support, hosting support, and upgrades are included with every plan. Free support is offered during business hours, 8am - 5pm, Pacific time. See below for details and exclusions.
We are here to answer any questions you have about using AbleCommerce software. Free support is limited to questions relating to the setup of your store and using features in your store. Paid support may be available at $99 per hour for issues not relating to general AbleCommerce use.
Website migrations, major upgrades, and installation changes, are a few of the paid support services we offer. Contact us for a quote.
During your time with us, we will keep your AbleCommerce software updated for no additional charge. Upon request, we will complete the steps of any incremental upgrade, which includes directly updating your program files and database. Applicable post-upgrade steps will need to be reviewed and performed by the store administrator.
If you have customized any of the AbleCommerce files, it is your responsibility to merge any changes. We suggest you keep a backup of your custom files at all times.
ALL UPGRADES ARE PERFORMED BY REQUEST ONLY. For any custom changes that need to be merged during the upgrade, it is the store administrator's responsibility to provide them to the technician during the time the upgrade is scheduled. We are not responsible for testing any custom changes after the upgrade.
Major upgrades are not included, but are available upon request, at our standard $99 per hour rate.
We will help you setup websites, email, DNS, or anything else related to our hosting network, at no additional charge. Hosting fees for these services may still apply. Please check the Resources in your hosting plan to see a fee schedule. Paid support may be available at $99 per hour for special needs.
When you access your hosting control panel, you will see on the opening page, instructions for reporting an emergency. This should ONLY be used in the event of a critical situation where you are unable to take orders. Using the emergency service for non urgent issues will result in your being billed at our hourly rate of $150 per hour.
