The ShipStation API integration provides a more robust relationship between AbleCommerce and ShipStation.  This integration exposes much more functionality than the Custom Store integration and has AbleCommerce doing much of the heavy lifting.  Orders are pushed to ShipStation, where merchants can perform functions such as shipping an order, creating a shipping label, retrieving shipping rates, adding funds to a carrier account, creating a warehouse, and much more.

The ShipStation API integration has a broader range of functionality, including:

• Provide order information from AbleCommerce to ShipStation, including shipping address(es), products, customers, etc

• Receive tracking information when an order is shipped, including shipping method, shipping status, tracking number, and more.

Our ShipStation integration is designed to work with the multiple shipment facilities of AbleCommerce.  For merchants, this means more control over how and from where products can be shipped.  For customers, multiple packages can use different methods of shipping based on budget and timeliness requirements.  This can help control costs and set expectations, increasing overall customer satisfaction.
