We have a standard practice to give our Super Admins a coupon that enables 100% discount for testing orders.
This way, we're not actually using cards, payments, etc.

When I setup a 100% discount coupon and try to use it, my experience is varied:

1.) On the basket page (domain.com/Checkout/Basket), I get a perfect 100% discount. In my example, I am buying a single product that sells for $28.01 and my coupon (100% ) is good for -$28.01.
2.) When I move into the order processing (/checkout/EditBillAddress) the summary shows total fee of $28.02 (NOTE THAT NEW AMOUNT), minus a coupon of $28.01 for a balance due: a $0.01 'charge' in the payment due.
3.) If I add more SKUs to my order, the balance due is a a SUM of the number of products. So TWO SKUs now has a balance due of $0.02; Three SKUs gives me a balance due of $0.03; Four gives $0.04, etc.)

It's almost as though the order Summary is calculating the 100% discount, but then is adding in an amount that is equal to the # of SKUs.

It's important to note too that the QTY per SKU does not affect this. If I have 5 QTY in one SKU, the fee increases only $0.01. If I have 5 SKUs it increases $0.05.

THanks!
Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm unable to replicate this in RC3. Is this something in an old version you are talking about?

You can't add coupons on the basket page, so that also is causing some confusion.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike --

Running AC 9 RC3, for sure.

Yes, I did realize that the Basket doesn't allow you to add a coupon. I had added on a later screen (the payment screen) and then went back to add more product. That's when I ended up on the basket screen, showing the coupon at 100%.

Could the back-and-forth have created this issue?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I went back and forth several times and wasn't able to replicate the issue. I'll need more details on how to replicate the issue.
Thank you for your support!

Hi Steve,

I still want to figure it out, but when we are testing we just assign the call me payment method to the admin groups. So you still have a valid order total and a valid unprocessed payment.
Thank you for your support!

Hi Steve,

I'm trying to reproduce this issue and I have a few questions.

Did you create an order coupon or a product coupon?

Do you remove any tax or shipping calculations? Or can the user place an order without the additional tax and shipping being added to the final amount?

Anything unusual about the product, like does it have priced options, part of a kit, etc.?

Thanks for your help. I've seen these rounding issues before but I thought we had taken care of them all during testing.

Katie

Hi Katie --
Sorry for my late response... it's been rather chaotic here lately and I'm getting back on this.

1.) Created as an "Order Coupon"
2.) It's a 100% Order Coupon -- There ought not be any tax with a 100% discount, right? I had not stopped tax calculations in the store, though.
3.) Shipping hadn't yet been calculated.
4.) No there was nothing unusual about the product that I can recall.... we have several thousand skus: I'll see if I can replicate now.

Thanks!
Steve

Hi Steve,

I just tried replicating this again with a product that's $28.01. Tried it with 10% shipping and then without. No taxes either way.

Were you able to replicate it?
Thank you for your support!

Hi Mike,
I cannot duplicate it now. Not sure why.
I'll keep and eye on this and if it comes up again, I'll bring it back to you.

Thanks,
Steve
