Hi, is there a way to enable email verification for new users?
The AC 6 digit swirled number and captcha at login is painful for users.
The biggest problem we have is bots creating accounts.
If we could require email verification for new users, we could turn off the captcha/number at login.
Please advise.
Thanks, Charles

Hi Charles, It's not a feature that you can enable, but it is certainly a great feature request and one we should definitely consider adding to the software. These bots are really getting out of hand. I'm going to add a new feature request, so we don't forget. I know the old style Captcha is not great and hard to read, but we do have two other forms of Captcha available. Google v2 ReCaptcha presents a Challenge with puzzle images, and Google v3 is score based. With v3, you can adjust the value in AbleCommerce to make it stricter for bots. For more information, please see this help document - https://help.ablecommerc...ty%2FPassword_Policy.htmLet me know if you have any questions. |
Thanks for your support!

Hi Katie, thanks for the response.
Yes we enabled captcha v3 today.
However, we expect some bots to get through that shouldn't, and some users to be blocked that shouldn't.
Requiring validation of email for account creation would help a lot.
Regards, Charles
