Our store admin user is reporting being asked for credentials after just a few minutes of idle time.

This is the screenshot of the prompt, not usual session timeout.

Any idea what is causing this?

Hi,

This prompt isn't coming from AbleCommerce. Do you have a custom integration or permissions set at the website level?

Thanks,
Katie

No custom integrations in place and no special permissions have been set that I know of.
Any other ideas?

This could happen if Windows Authentication is enabled on the website.

Please confirm this in your webserver if you are using IIS (Internet Information Services)

We are using IIS but I have no way to tell if Windows Authentication is turned on.
How would I check that?

Please open your IIS interface, select the website and select the Authentication menu
If there is an option for windows authentication then it should be disabled.

I am sharing screenshots to elaborate
