Hi

After upgrade to V9, we're seeing about 100s errors (similar) happening daily. I talked to the hosting company who performed the upgrade for us claimed that it wasn't server issue but coding issue. I'm not sure about it so I'm posting the errors and hope that anyone may know what was the cause

Thank you for posting the errors. The first one is due to a 404 Not Found.

The result is a 404, an error in the log file resulted. We are fixing the error in our next version, but you'll need to check into the product URL and see why it's not working. Maybe a redirect is needed?

The second issue I'm not so sure about. It looks like an error is being generated when a customer logs in to view their order. Have any customers been reporting issues or problems logging in?

The encoding in the URL looks strange.

I'll ask a developer to look at this and offer some idea as well.

Hello Katie:

I think the issue on the 404 NOT Found was caused by missing items. I will try to do remote login to the SQL server and check the indexed items. Not sure why are there so many item "missed".

Regarding the second issue. I found that all those order were paid by Paypal. It didn't happen to orders paid by credit card. Strange enough that every night at 10:07pm I received warning notice from the Paypal. Do you think that it could be an issue with the Paypal module? BTW, we don't have much problem to receive payment from Paypal.

I just received some interesting information from the dev team. Regarding issue #2...

I thought perhaps the error happened if the order number and order ID were out-of-sync, so I asked the developer to look into this. Here is his response:

I performed some tests using different order numbers and ids. It seems to be working fine, in email we send both order and number and they are correct. If I use just the order number to see order details, the system is able to pick the correct order so it all seems good.

If I use a number that doesn't correspond to order then before these new updates it registered an error. After new updates, it seems to redirect without causing any error entry.

So, with two issues relating to ID's that are changed or no longer exist, I am concerned that you may have some issue with your data. If it were me, I would find a backup of your Gold database taken before the upgrade. Then compare the products and orders tables to see if the ID's are matched between your Gold and AC9 databases.

If they do not match, then this could generate more errors that wouldn't normally be present in an upgraded install.

Please let me know if you are able to do this. I'd like to know because it helps me understand why you are getting so many errors that we can't reproduce.

Hi Marco,

I've taken a look at the original Gold data and it seems everything has been upgraded properly. I think the reason you are getting 404 errors is that these Id's simply don't exist.

When I checked your Gold to AC9 upgrade, the last order number is 220161. The customer was trying to go to order 250450.

Product ID 887 does not exist in the original Gold data.

So, I'm not sure what to say about the errors. It's like something changed post-upgrade and the ID's are now different.

If you want to send me a link to your current database backup, I can take one more look and see if anything looks off about the records.

FYI, we just performed an upgrade to Version: 9.0.1.5867
I found that most errors were Paypal related.

Speaking of the order#, actually the hosting company intent to do so when they discovered duplicate order number was happening. That's why they start new order from 22xxx to 25xxx.

I'll ask them to setup a backup link for the current DB for troubleshooting.
