We just had a merchant ask us about this new USPS service. Would adding it to an AC9 site just be a matter of putting it into the
uspsmthods.csv file?

Yes, you just need to update uspsmethods.csv

Remove the retired services and add the new service. This change will be the part of next release.

To patch for AC9 or Gold, open app_data/uspsmethods.csv in notepad (not excel)

Find –

Retail Ground<sup>®</sup>| USPS Retail Ground

Replace with -

Ground Advantage<sup>®</sup>|USPS Ground Advantage

Recycle the app server

Go to admin, USPS configuration and select the new method. Configure if applicable and save.

Test to make sure it works.


FYI- These are the 3 services that are no longer used by USPS:

• USPS Retail Ground
• USPS First-Class Package Service - Retail
• Parcel Select Ground

Thanks for the Update Katie,

I've been working on this this week, thought I was getting the syntax wrong, I think I just forgot to recycle the server. All working now.

The USPS First-Class Package Service is a commonly used service for our light stuff, but it has stopped working around July 7-9 as best we can guess, even though the USPS technical PDF says:

Web Tools will support backwards compatibility such that
integrators may continue to pass existing API inputs for USPS Retail Ground, First-Class Package
Service, and Parcel Select Ground which will return new USPS Ground Advantage outputs. Note: USPS
Ground Advantage will only incorporate USPS First-Class Package Service, not USPS First-Class Mail.
