9.0.4 product page does a full postback on add-to-cart

My client is seeing unusual amounts of postback going on with the product page when you add-to-cart. A full postback is made and the entire page is reloaded even though we just clicked the add-to-cart button.

Looking at Chrome Network tab, you can see the full page being reloaded. Why?

Steps to reproduce:
Open this url in browser https://www.woodessence.com/Spra...pters/PPS-Adapter-Type-2
Wait for page to finish loading
Open Chrome Developer tabs and choose Network tab
Clear the Network tab log if necessary
Click the add to cart button

The entire page refreshes. Shouldn't this be a small ajax post?

We tested this on a different 9.0.4 install and say same behavior.

Looking at the console messages, is it potentially related to:

After the XHR failed loading, it reloads the entire page.
